Rubber Stamps and Accessories
The large stamp on the left measures 4 1/2 X 6 inches!  It was used to
stamp order forms.
The "Withdrawn From" stamp is nearly 7 inches long! It was not meant to
be that large.  Normally, the "Withdrawn From" stamps are much smaller
and used in books that are taken out of a library's collection.  A good
example of what happens when you don't proofread stamp orders!

Stamps were organized on this Standard Brand stamp tree.  Various
stamps were needed to imprint certain information on materials.  Some
examples of what is on the stamps are: "see next card for holding,"
"analyzed," "see holdings for author card," "closed stacks,"
"noncirculating."

The Regal Numbering Machine is used for accession stamping.  One could
set the stamp to repeat numbering so that a number could be stamped in a
book entering the collection as well as the accession record book or on a
payment order.  The stamp could also be set to stamp consecutively so that
call numbers could be put in books without having to reset the stamp each
time.
