Bone Folders
Bone folders have a variety of uses, including creating sharp creases,
scraping, and turning the pages of brittle books. Today they are still made
out of bone, however they are also available in plastic and Teflon.

Bindery Sewing Tools
These tools, above, were used to bind and repair the spines of books. The
needles and thread had to be strong enough to push through book materials
and withstand the wear and tear of regular use.
Thank you to those who have contributed artifacts to the virtual museum! We are always looking for more items to include. Please contact: heidihoerman@yahoo.com
