What indexing software do you use? Can you do
embedded indexing?

The index file can be supplied in your preferred format. Your
index can be created using your in-house software or SKY
professional indexing software. Microsoft Word embedded
indexing is also available.

The indexing chapter of the Chicago Manual of Style is the
gold standard for most indexing projects. I use the current,
online edition. I can also follow other style manuals or in-house
requirements as needed for your project. From my years of
teaching indexing, I also have a considerable reference library
on indexing.

How much do you charge? What are your billing
methods? What payment methods can you accept?

Charges depend on the content of the work to be indexed.
Quotes can be provided based on sample content. Most
projects will be charged "per indexable page." If you prefer
another way to set costs (e.g. per word or per entry), that
method can be used. I can adapt my billing and receivables
requirements to meet your organizational needs.

Where did you get your indexing expertise?
|
|
|
I taught a full three-credit course on indexing to masters degree
students for fifteen years overseeing a variety of student
projects. I also taught courses on cataloging, subject analysis
& classification. I have now left university teaching to provide
indexing and similar information services full time.
